We had a wonderful time on Wednesday night performing for a supportive audience at our Family and Friends Mini-Concert! The concert included a range of repertoire songs, our contest set, performances from chorus quartets Looking for a Tenor and That'll Do, and special guests Three Squirrels and a Nut and Luminous Quartet!
It's always a joy to share the music that we work on every week, and we loved the opportunity to give our contest set a couple of runs on stage before we head to the Sweet Adelines Australia convention in Hobart next week!
Another highlight of the evening was welcoming new members Naomi and Aimee to the stage to perform with us. These two fabulous singers learnt several songs in record time so they could join us at this event. Congratulations, Naomi and Aimee!
Thank you to our guest quartets, our sparkling MC (Natalie O'Driscoll), our photographer/videographer (Matt Dale), and everyone who came out on a Wednesday night to see us! And a special thankyou to our amazing Musical Director! Julie not only planned the show, wrote the MC script and directed all our songs, but also arrived early and stayed late to set up and pack up. And then lugged all of our riser steps home. An absolute legend!
If you'd like to see us perform in Hobart, you can watch via the livestream on the Sweet Adelines Australia YouTube channel. We're due to hit the stage at 1:57pm on Saturday 17 May. Luminous Quartet will be on stage on Friday 16 May at 2:32pm.
